Vanessa Ribeiro Teixeira Borges

Vanessa Borges completed her LLM at Penn State University in the United States shortly after obtaining her law degree from Brazil’s Mackenzie University. Prior to joining Deffenti Lawyers, she represented and advised the world’s largest search engine company on data security, privacy, civil liability on the internet and deceptive practices on social media. Vanessa has extensive experience in civil litigation and has been prominent in international matters due to her cross-jurisdictional knowledge.

Her recent experience includes:

• Advising a London Stock Exchange-listed company on employment and compliance issues
• Acting on a securities class action claim against a Brazilian company before the US District Court - Southern District of New York
• Assisting a fintech company operating in over 30 countries with its expansion into Brazil
• Advising a Serbian investor on migration and new operations in Brazil’s agribusiness sector
• Drafting and implementing data protection policies for a registered foreign branch office in Brazil of an Australian public health care company
